At the beginning of 2013 I felt that I would be travelling a lot, but all I knew was that I was going to Mexico for a month. Well, it ends up that I also went to the Yukon for six weeks, Nelson, B.C. for one week, Austria for two and a half weeks and England for two and a half weeks! Yoga and meditation form the basis of my life, but family is the core and they live in many different places.
Mudras held a fascination for me last year, more than ever before, so I had fun trying out many to feel the results. Gyan Mudra is one of the most soothing to the whole nervous system, calming unbalanced minds and bodies. The results are almost immediate and all we need to do is place the tip of our forefinger on the tip of our thumb (on both hands). Please make sure that the other three fingers are straightened and not floppy, as the energy can flow better. I most enjoy doing Gyan Mudra laying in bed, last thing at night or first thing in the morning - ah, relaxing! It may, of course, be done anywhere - at your desk, while your hands rest on your lap when you are stressed, at the dentist, on the bus (I put my hands in my hat :), watching TV, or anywhere you choose. I promise you that you will always have good results with this conscious raising mudra.
